This classification (if working within a 24/7 facility) may be eligible for a non-base building temporary pay differential of 2.8% through June 2025.
$25,000 Hiring Incentives for SOCIAL WORK/COUNSELORS:
Payout will be as follows:
- $5,000 after successful completion of the CDOC Training Academy
- $5,000 after successful completion of 4 months of service
- $5,000 after successful completion of 8 months of service
- $10,000 after successful completion of 12 months of service.
Location: Multiple positions in Canon City, CO. This posting may be used to fill future vacancies at this location.

Sex Offender Treatment Provider:
This position provides intensive sex offender treatment within the CDOC's Sex Offender Treatment & Monitoring Program (SOTMP), including development, implementation, and modification of individual treatment plans. SOTMP complies with Colorado Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) standards and guidelines.
- Conduct and prepare psycho-sexual evaluations for use by community corrections, Parole Board, and treatment providers in the community.
- Prepare parole board assessments to assist in release decisions. Participate in support education meetings periodically.
- Participate in standardized training workshops regarding the Dynamics of Sex Offenders.
- Provide crisis intervention and consultation to correctional staff on high-risk behaviors.
- Review records and interview inmates to assess sexual violence level, treatment needs, and treatment amenability.
- Develop and regularly review individual treatment plans and goals.
- Provide intensive treatment through group therapy, individual therapy, and evaluations.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid, active license from the State of Colorado or participating in the Social Work Licensure Compact (Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist).
- One (1) year of licensed or license candidacy experience with the mental health and/or sex offender population.
Special Qualifications:
- Clinicians providing sex offender treatment must apply with SOMB within 30 days of hire.

Required Competencies:
- Valid license from Colorado as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
- Knowledge of crisis assessment and counseling protocols.
- Effective interaction with offenders.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to create accessible documents following plain language and accessibility guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mental health counseling in inmate populations and crisis intervention.
- Experience conducting suicide risk assessments.
- Listing as a treatment provider with SOMB.
- Experience as part of a multidisciplinary team.
