Job Location: This position will work in a state correctional facility and will serve as the office manager for the executive office at the Denver Complex.

Description of Job

The purpose of this position is to provide office management and support to facility/office/division administration.

Primary Duties
  1. Organize and supervise all office activities for the Warden;
  2. Ensure efficient operations, supervise workloads, develop office procedures, and standards;
  3. Assist in selecting appropriate database or software programs;
  4. Track commitments and deadlines; liaise with other sections and outside entities;
  5. Supervise administrative staff and organize support activities;
  6. Establish office procedures, evaluate production and quality;
  7. Provide or coordinate training for staff on equipment and software;
  8. Maintain records, schedules, and budgets;
  9. Handle confidential information and provide customer service;
  10. Ensure policy compliance and foster professional relationships;
  11. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years of relevant clerical or office support experience, or a combination of college coursework in Business, Criminal Justice, or related fields and relevant experience. Work experience less than full-time will be prorated.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Decision-making ability;

  • Policy development and implementation experience;
  • Support management organizational skills;
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to create accessible, clear documents.
Preferred Qualifications
  • State service experience in a correctional environment;
  • Experience at the Administrative Assistant III level;
  • Supervision experience, including planning, evaluation, and HR systems;
  • Ability to develop office procedures and manuals;
  • Experience in report compilation and documentation;
  • Experience in hiring, interviewing, and personnel recommendations;
  • Office management support experience for management teams;
  • Experience coordinating official functions and events.
