Position Overview

Cornerstone Driver Solutions is hiring an experienced CDL-A Yard Jockey for a local yard operation supporting a major candy manufacturer in the Hershey, Pennsylvania area.

This is a yard-focused position where the primary responsibility is moving and positioning trailers and equipment within the facility's yard. Drivers will spend the majority of their working time performing yard duties rather than making traditional over-the-road deliveries.

This position offers a consistent 3.5 days on / 3.5 days off schedule , home-daily work, automatic equipment, and both day and night shift opportunities.

Pay & Schedule

• Average weekly pay: $1,176
• Average annual pay: approximately $61,152
• Hourly pay structure
• 3.5 days on / 3.5 days off
• One weekend day required as part of the rotation

Primary Responsibilities

• Move trailers throughout the facility yard safely and efficiently
• Spot trailers at designated doors and locations
• Shuttle trailers between yard locations as needed
• Perform yard checks and monitor trailer/equipment locations
• Connect and disconnect trailers as required
• Follow facility procedures for trailer movement and parking
• Maintain accurate communication with yard and operations personnel
• Conduct required equipment and safety inspections
• Follow all DOT, company, and facility safety procedures
• Maintain a safe and organized yard environment
• Perform other yard-related driving duties as assigned

Reliable transportation is required because the driver must be able to commute to the facility daily.

Driver Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Previous commercial driving experience required
• Yard jockey, hostler, local, or tractor-trailer experience preferred
• Ability to safely maneuver trailers in a busy yard environment
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Strong attendance and dependability
• Good communication skills
• Ability to follow safety procedures and facility rules
• Must be able to work the assigned 3.5-on / 3.5-off rotation
• Must be willing to work one weekend day as part of the schedule
• Must be available for either day or night shift based on operational needs
• Reliable transportation to and from the facility
• Must meet applicable DOT and carrier qualification requirements
