Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver to haul no-touch intermodal freight to Chicago-area rail yards. This local, Monday–Friday role offers home daily with an 11:00 PM start and around 1,500 miles per week.

You will earn approximately $75,000 per year plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus, with paid training and additional load pay. Hazmat endorsement is needed within 90 days of hire. PTO accrual and other benefits apply.

CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver – Good Pay + $10K Bonus

Earn approximately $75,000 per year hauling no-touch intermodal freight to Chicago-area rail yards. This local Monday–Friday position offers daily home time, paid training, additional load pay, and a $10,000 bonus.

Pay Details

• Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,442
• Bonus: $10,000
• New drivers start at $0.48 CPM, with a $0.01 annual increase up to $0.55 CPM.
• All hub miles paid, including loaded and empty miles.
• Customer live load: $65 — approximately 20% of freight
• Customer drop-and-hook: $40 — approximately 80% of freight
• Hazmat load: +$25
• Refrigerated load: +$30
• Empty move: $15
• Crosstown drop: $23–$55, based on ramp distance
• Rail delay pay: $20/hour after the first hour
• Additional waiting-time pay may apply based on the applicable delay policy.
• Ramp training: $250 per day for at least 5 full days

Job Details

Shift Details
