Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A Local Driver for a Grocery Account with home daily time and competitive pay. You’ll deliver fresh and frozen groceries on a dedicated local route, primarily within the Hudson Valley, Long Island, NYC area, and surrounding states after completing required training.

Expect 15+ stops per week, mostly no-touch freight, and NYC training before operating NYC routes. The role offers pay ranges that reflect a strong annual total and consistent work with daily home

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver fresh and frozen groceries on a dedicated local account.
• Complete multi-stop loads, typically 15+ stops per week.
• Freight is mostly no-touch; occasional pallet jack unloading may occur.
• Handle returns/backhaul pickups at the final stop.
• Support other local distribution accounts 2–3 days per week.

CDL-A Local Driver | Grocery Account – Good Pay | Home Daily

Earn $85,000–$100,000 per year delivering fresh and frozen groceries on a dedicated local account. Enjoy daily home time, consistent work, and routes throughout the Hudson Valley, Long Island, and the New York City area after completing the required training.

Pay Details

• Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,650–$1,950


• Seniority-Based Annual Average: $83,600–$87,600


• Double dock pay available

Job Details

• Deliver fresh and frozen groceries using 48-, 51-, or 53-foot reefer trailers.


• Serve supermarkets and distribution centers within an approximately 250-mile radius.


• Delivery areas include the Hudson Valley, Long Island, New York City's five boroughs, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania backhaul routes.


• Approximately 20–25% of freight is delivered in New York City.


• Complete multi-stop loads, typically 15 or more stops per week.


• Usually run two loads per day or one longer load.


• Handle return products or backhaul pickups at the final stop.


• Freight is mostly no-touch, though occasional pallet jack unloading may be required when supporting other accounts.


• Support other local distribution accounts approximately 2–3 days per week.


• New drivers must complete NYC training and will not operate NYC routes until they have at least 6 months on the account.

Shift Details

• Tuesday–Saturday


• Start time: Approximately 1:00–5:00 AM


• Sunday and Monday off


• Five-day workweek


• Two mandatory sixth days per month


• Sixth‑day work is required around the six major holidays.


• Thanksgiving: Off


• Christmas: Off


• New Year's: Not guaranteed

Job Requirements
