Job summary

Salt City Trucking is hiring a Local CDL-A Reefer Driver to deliver fresh and frozen groceries across New York and nearby markets. You'll work daily with home time, handling mostly no-touch freight and supporting other local accounts as needed.

Expect annual earnings in the $85,000–$100,000 range with routes that include Hudson Valley, NYC, Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania backhauls. duties include 15+ stops weekly, pallet jack assistance, and professional customer service

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum 3 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience.
• DOT Medical Card.
• Clean driving record.
• No SAP drivers.
• Reliable personal transportation to and from work.
• Ability to provide professional customer service.
• Willingness to support other local accounts and pallet jack unloading when needed.
• New drivers must complete required training before operating solo routes in New York City.
• Drivers will not run NYC routes until on the account for at least 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fresh and frozen groceries using 46'–53' reefer trailers.
• Cover delivery areas including Hudson Valley, NYC boroughs, Long Island, NJ, CT and PA.
• Complete approximately 15+ stops per week.
• Two loads per day or one longer load depending on route.
• Pick up returns at final stops or backhaul freight to the distribution center.
• Mostly no-touch freight; client unloads and driver assists as needed.
• Drivers may support other distribution-center accounts 2–3 days per week.
• Pallet jack unloading may be required when assisting other accounts.
• Strong customer service skills are expected.

Earn $85,000–$100,000 per year delivering fresh and frozen groceries throughout New York and surrounding markets. This dedicated local position offers daily home time, established delivery routes, and mostly no-touch freight.

Pay Details

• Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,700–$1,950
• Double dock pay available
• Additional compensation may apply when supporting other accounts

• Deliver fresh and frozen groceries using 46', 48', 51', and 53' reefer trailers.
• Delivery area includes the Hudson Valley, New York City boroughs, Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania backhaul routes.
• Approximately 15 or more stops per week.
• Complete two loads per day or one longer load, depending on the route.
• Pick up returns at final stops or backhaul freight to the distribution center.
• Mostly no-touch freight; customer unloads and the driver assists as needed.

Shift Details

• Home daily
• Holiday work required when the holiday falls on a scheduled workday and the account is operating.
• Thanksgiving and Christmas are typically off.
• New Year’s Day off is not guaranteed.
