Job summary

You will operate yard equipment and ensure safety protocols in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to lift, push, pull and sort packages as needed, and work with management to streamline yard operations.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
• CDL – Class A is required to operate in interstate commerce.
• Ability to follow instruction regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes and unloading devices.

Responsibilities

• Moves trailers between yard, doors and yard.
• Coordinates trailer movements with management/central control.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Understands and demonstrates effective yard switching safety processes and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
