Job summary

The Yard Driver at Kreher Family Farms provides safe and efficient trailer movement within the yard to support shipping and receiving operations at our New York facility. The role emphasizes yard organization, dock access, and ensuring equipment is in safe working condition.

Responsibilities include moving trailers between doors, backing into docks, inspecting equipment, and maintaining yard flow. CDL A and a high school diploma are required, with two years in warehousing or logistics preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CDL license is required.
• Two years of warehouse/logistics experience is preferred.
• Experience operating yard trucks/terminal tractors and backing into docks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Trailer Movement: Move trailers between dock doors, storage locations, and maintenance areas.
• Docking Operations: Safely maneuver and position trailers into tight dock spaces with precise alignment.
• Equipment Inspection: Inspect trailers and terminal tractors for safety hazards and maintenance needs.
• Yard Efficiency: Maintain an organized yard to optimize flow of goods and support shipping/receiving.
• Driver Coverage: Fill in for other CDL A roles or transport equipment between sites as needed.
• Operational Support: Assist with additional tasks such as cleaning trailers, operating forklifts, or fueling equipment.
