Airgas USA, LLC in Akron, OH is seeking a safety-minded Tanker Driver to operate a cryogenic CO2 tanker, delivering to customer sites within a 125-mile radius. Expect 10+ daily deliveries, with a flexible AM shift and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT, Tanker & Airbrake endorsements.
• Maintain valid driver’s license, medical card & endorsements.
• No more than two traffic convictions or at-fault accidents within the last three years.
• No DUI/DWI in the last seven years.
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or provide proof of trucking school certificate within last 12 months.
• Must work in a drug-free environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bulk CO2 product from the Airgas truck to the customer’s tank using a hose hookup.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Coordinate routine maintenance and ensure the route truck remains in safe working order.

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday

Shift: Flexible AM start time before 8:00 AM | Plus overtime availability

About the Role

Airgas National Carbonation (ANC) is a specialized division of Airgas that focuses on delivering CO2 (carbon dioxide) to support drink carbonation for businesses such as restaurants, bars, craft breweries, fast-food locations, and entertainment venues. As a Bulk CO2 Driver, you will operate a cryogenic tanker, making roughly 10+ deliveries per day to replenish onsite cryogenic delivery systems known as Microbulk tanks. All ANC trucks are modern day cabs with automatic transmissions, and we utilize an efficient slip-seat operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Delivery: Safely transfer bulk CO2 product from the Airgas truck to the customer’s tank utilizing a hose hook-up.
• Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations and company maintenance checklists.
• Collaboration: Ensure the route truck remains in proper, safe working order, and coordinate routine or required maintenance on a timely basis.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL with HAZMAT, Tanker & Airbrake endorsements.
• Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsements.
• No more than two traffic convictions or at-fault accidents within the last three years.
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven years.
• Must be able to work in a drug-free environment.
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.

Preferred Qualifications

• CO2 or any specialty gas experience is a plus, but not required. We will train!
