Job summary

Carolina Container Company in Laurinburg, NC is seeking an experienced Truck Driver to safely operate a tractor-trailer or bobtail to deliver sheets or finished products. A high school diploma or GED, CDL, and 2+ years of truck driving and forklift experience are required.

Applicants must have extensive knowledge of truck driving rules and regulations and be able to comply with safety standards and complete required paperwork. First shift duties and weekend work may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• CDL required.
• Two years experience as a Truck Driver.
• Two years experience as a Forklift Operator.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Frequent sitting for extended periods.
• Load/unload or assist in loading/unloading finished product in or from trailer.
• Inspect load in trailer to ensure it is properly loaded and it is the correct load before leaving.
• Verify count while truck is being unloaded, as allowed by customers.
• Transport load by required route to proper destination while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Obtain shipping bill of lading and necessary signatures and return completed paperwork to shipping office.
• Complete daily time card, driver logs, and all other work reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Report any maintenance items to supervision immediately. Be proactive in the maintenance of the truck and trailers.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.
