Job summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools seeks a semi-skilled transportation worker to operate trucks for picking up and delivering materials across district facilities. This role requires safe operation, routine maintenance checks, and adherence to district instructions.

You must hold a High School Diploma or GED and a valid CDL (Class A, B, or C depending on the vehicle). Duties include loading/unloading, record keeping, and assisting crews on worksites within Memphis and Shelby County.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL license (Class A, B, or C) depending on vehicle.
• Ability to load/unload and perform routine maintenance checks.

Responsibilities

• Drive light, medium, and large trucks, with or without trailers, to deliver materials to District work locations.
• Load and unload trucks at designated stops and keep delivery records.
• Transport crew, materials and equipment to job sites and assist crews as needed.
• Operate vehicles to move materials for maintenance, landscaping, or road projects.
• Notify supervisor of equipment repairs and ensure roadworthiness.
