Qualifications

  • Clean MVR with no DUI/DWI in past 5 years.
  • DOT Medical Certification required.

  • Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and punctual delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Class A CMV to transport materials between Tulsa, Inola, and Port of Catoosa.
  • Ensure on-time, accurate deliveries per schedules.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT/FMCSA.
  • Assist with loading/unloading and securing loads.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and coordinate with maintenance.
  • Complete delivery documentation accurately.

Job description

The CDL Operator is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of materials, equipment, and products between company facilities in Tulsa, Port of Catoosa and Inola, Oklahoma. This position requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a commitment to safe driving practices, regulatory compliance, and reliable delivery operations. When not on the road, the operator will move materials at either site to fabrication shops as needed. Will be asked to do other tasks related to material movement, forklift driving.

$2,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates, subject to eligibility requirements and company policy.

Location and Reporting
  • This position operates between our Tulsa, Port of Catoosa, and Inola, Oklahoma facilities. Regular travel between these locations is a core function of the role. Travel between local vendors for material pickup will be required.

  • The position reports directly to the Yard Superintendent.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

a) Transportation and Delivery Operations

  • Operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport materials, equipment, and products between Tulsa and Inola facilities. Operate regular fleet trucks with smaller trailers for material movement and pickup with vendors.

  • Ensure on-time and accurate delivery of loads in accordance with schedules and delivery.

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT and FMCSA requirements.

  • Assist with loading and unloading operations at each facility as required.

b) Safety Compliance

  • Adhere to all federal, state, and company safety regulations.

  • Maintain a clean driving record and immediately report any traffic violations, accidents, or vehicle damage.

  • Participate in required driver safety meetings, training programs, and drug and alcohol testing as mandated by DOT regulations.

  • Properly secure all loads using appropriate tie-downs, chains, or straps to prevent shifting or damage in transit.

  • Follow all procedures for handling hazardous materials if applicable, including proper placarding and documentation.

  • Report unsafe road conditions, near-miss incidents, or vehicle deficiencies to supervisor immediately.

c) Vehicle Maintenance and Standards

  • Maintain assigned vehicle(s) in a clean, roadworthy condition and report any mechanical issues promptly.

  • Complete accurate and timely vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs) as required by DOT regulations.

  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure scheduled preventive maintenance is completed on time.

  • Monitor fuel usage and practice fuel-efficient driving techniques to reduce operating costs.

d) Documentation and Communication

  • Accurately complete all required delivery documentation including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and chain-of-custody records.

  • Communicate proactively with the team and facility coordinators regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.

  • Workplace and Facility Standards

  • Keep loading areas, staging zones, and assigned vehicle clean and organized at both facilities.

  • Properly store and secure equipment, straps, tarps, and other transport accessories when not in use.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued by the State of Oklahoma.

  • Minimum 2 years of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience.

  • Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) with no DUI/DWI convictions within the past 5 years.

  • Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (current medical card).

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment and ongoing DOT drug and alcohol screening program.

  • Knowledge of and compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations governing commercial motor vehicle operations.

  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to punctual, professional delivery service.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in petrochemical, oil & gas, industrial, or manufacturing transportation.

  • Hazmat endorsement on CDL.

  • Experience operating flatbed, step deck, or specialized trailers.

  • Familiarity with the Tulsa–Inola corridor and surrounding Rogers and Tulsa County road networks.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating commercial vehicles over varying road conditions.

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted; may occasionally handle heavier items with mechanical assistance.

  • Ability to climb in and out of cab, secure loads, and work outdoors in varying Oklahoma weather conditions.

  • Must meet DOT physical qualification standards and maintain a current DOT medical certificate.
