Job summary

Desoto Line Services, an Orlando-based provider, seeks a CDL driver to operate 10-14yd dump trucks on gas distribution projects. You will support a crew installing plastic pipe and may operate a backhoe to backfill ditches.

Training is provided by Foreman and General Foreman; supervision is daily on a crew. Requires CDL A/B, construction knowledge, and a clean FMCSA record.

Qualifications

• CDL A or B license required; other endorsements a plus.
• Knowledge of general construction practices.
• Experience in gas operations, tooling, materials, and equipment.
• Maintain equipment and perform prechecks.
• Ability to take clear, decipherable notes.
• Must follow FMCSA rules and regulations.
• Must be 18+ with high school diploma or equivalent.

Job summary and expectations:

Summary: You will be driving one of our 10-14yd dump trucks on a daily basis. Assisting a crew that will be putting in plastic pipe for natural gas distribution. You will also likely operate a backhoe to fill the dump truck with materials to back fill our ditches. We can help teach that.

Equipment: We operate large dump trucks to small ones. Maintenance and Safe driving will be key for this position.

Safety: Adhere to standards set by Desoto in order to drive safely and maintain vehicles and equipment.

Training and Supervision: Turck Drivers at our company will receive in field training from a Foreman and General Foreman. You will be supervised on a crew by a Foreman every day and the General Foreman periodically. Work with some of our more experienced drivers to get a feel for the vehicles and our operating area.

Minimum:

• CDL A or B required, other endorsements a plus
• Knowledge of general construction practices
• Experience in general gas operations, tooling, material, and equipment
• Maintain equipment and perform prechecks
• Ability to take clean and decipherable notation
• Obey all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) rules and regulations
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Clean driving record and a DOT physical or ability to obtain one upon employment

Preferred:

• Past experience in natural gas distribution
• Effective communication with coworkers, customers, and client

Salary:$26.09 but could be negotiated with experience and skillset
