You will ensure proficiency in vehicle operation, pre-trip inspections, shifting techniques, and defensive driving strategies, while upholding safety standards at multiple training sites.

The role requires teaching, assessing student progress, maintaining records, and traveling to various campuses as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL license with endorsements (Passenger, Air brakes, Hazmat) required.
• DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate required.
• Two years of commercial driving experience.
• One year of technical skills in vehicle operation and maintenance.
• Clean Driving Record: no major accidents in the last three years.
• Formal education valued but not sole requirement; experience matters.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive classroom and behind-the-wheel CDL instruction.
• Teach state and federal regulations, including FMCSA guidelines and HOS.
• Conduct skills assessments, written exams, and road tests.
• Perform pre-/post-trip inspections and address safety concerns.
• Maintain training records and ensure compliance documentation.
• Communicate with students and stakeholders across sites.
• Participate in curriculum development and program improvement.
• Stay current with CDL training standards and certifications.
• Travel to multiple training locations as required.
