Job summary

SAGE is seeking CDL driving instructors to train the next generation of drivers. No teaching experience is required; you will guide students on skills and maneuvers on the range and on the road, ensuring adherence to safety standards.

In this role, you’ll help students develop practical trucking competencies, mentor through the curriculum, and operate within typical 4–12 hour shift schedules, with home nights and weekends as part of the benefits package.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL License.
• Minimum two (2) years of practical trucking related experience that demonstrates instructional competency.
• A safe CDL A driving record as determined by the SAGE Safety Department.
• Knowledge/Skill: Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of safe truck driving and all of the laws and regulations covering tractor-trailer interstate operations.
• Attitude: Driving instructors/teachers must show an attitude that is favorable toward performance, professionalism, respect, motivation, maturity, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: Meet FMCSA and state requirements for interstate tractor-trailer drivers.
• Instruct students by demonstrating maneuvers on a skills driving range and in the truck on roads.
• Assess student performance and provide guidance to improve driving techniques and safety.
