FedEx in California is seeking full-time CDL Switchers responsible for moving trailers between yard areas and doors, performing safe hand-loading, and coordinating with control to keep docks flowing.

Essential duties include trailer switching, pre- and post-trip inspections, documenting moves in the Yard Management System, and adhering to safety processes. Minimum education is none; six months of related experience is preferred.

Competenze

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• CDL Class A to operate in interstate commerce required.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions and safety methods.
• Ability to sort packages correctly and use basic loading tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for a fast-paced team.

Mansioni

• Moves trailers between yard, doors, and loading areas (hooking/swapping).
• Communicates with management to coordinate trailer movements.
• Documents trailer moves in Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Adheres to yard safety processes; performs other duties as assigned.
