Job summary

Minimum education is none, with no experience required though six months as a package handler or CDL operator is preferred.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• No experience required; six months preferred as package handler or switching/CDL operator.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
• CDL Class A required to operate in interstate commerce.
• Able to follow work duties and safety instructions precisely.
• Able to read numbers to sort packages correctly.

Responsibilities

• Performs trailer switches by hooking and moving trailers between yard and doors.
• Communicates with management to coordinate yard trailer movements.
• Documents trailer moves using yard management systems or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Adheres to yard switching safety processes and procedures.
