Job summary

City of Buffalo is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate a variety of street cleaning and paving machines, perform routine maintenance, and follow work orders under supervision. The role requires operating Hi-lift, backhoe, dump trucks, and rollers, with safety as priority.

Applicants must have a current Class A or B CDL and be able to obtain certification for hi-lift and hydraulic broom within six months.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time experience operating specialized equipment and vehicles.
• Current Class A or Class B CDL with airbrakes capability.
• Must complete training in hi-lift, hydraulic broom and dump truck within six months.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment including hi-lift, street sweeper, backhoe and dump trucks.
• Perform routine maintenance and report equipment problems.
• Set up safety zones and wear required safety gear.
• Follow work orders and directions from supervisor.
• Assist with snow removal, street cleaning, and related tasks.
