Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a dependable CDL Shuttle and Transport Driver in Alabama to move production materials between plant and branch sites. The role requires CDL-A, adherence to regulations, and safe driving practices. Weekly schedule supports work-life balance with a 40-hour framework.

You’ll perform pre/post-trip inspections, handle loading/unloading, and maintain vehicle readiness. The position offers on-the-job training and a strong benefits package including health, 401(k), and discounts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 21 years of age or older.
• CDL-A license and safe driving record required.
• Pass DOT physical and drug screen.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Read/write/communicate in English.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive CDL vehicle between plant and branch locations in compliance with regulations.
• Load and unload cargo and ensure proper weight distribution.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any defects.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and complete DVIRs.
• Follow hours-of-service rules and log using required devices.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
