Our Team is Kind of a Big Deal!

UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking CDL Shuttler & Transport Driver to join our UniFirst Family. As a Team Partner, you will be transporting and delivering production materials between plant and branch locations while operating a CDL required vehicle with or without trailer. At UniFirst we have a 5-day work week, enjoy Saturday and Sunday off!! We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training.

Pay & Benefits:

Compensation: $21.00 - $28.00

What you’ll be doing:

1. Safely Drive an Interstate, CDL Required, Commercial Motor Vehicle in compliance with all Federal and State Regulations and Company policies.
2. Utilize equipment in a manner to maximize productivity and minimize wear and down-time.
3. Transport product between branch and plant locations according to schedule.
4. Ensure appropriate product is selected and loaded for the appropriate day.
5. Load and unload the vehicle safely and efficiently to ensure proper load distribution and securement.
6. Comply with Federal Hours of Service regulations; utilizing logs and Electronic Logging Devices as required.
7. Conduct daily Pre- and Post-Trip safety inspections and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Report.
8. Correct minor defects and deficiencies; top off fluids, bulbs, wiper blade replacement, emergency equipment inventory, etc.
9. Report unsafe conditions, accident, roadside inspections, and incidents immediately.
10. Maintain cleanliness and appearance of vehicle, inside and out, to reflect UniFirst standards.
11. Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
12. Follow all safety policies, HACCP, and medical guidelines.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

1. High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
2. Minimum 1-year verifiable CDL driving experience for CDL required positions without Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) certificate (anyone issued a CDL license prior to 2/7/2022). External candidates must have a minimum 90-day verifiable CDL driving experience for CDL required positions if they obtain their CDL license on or after 2/7/2022 according to ELDT standards.
3. Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
4. Valid driver’s license (CDL-A) is required.
5. Safe driving record in accordance with the Pre-employment Background Policy is required.
6. Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen.
7. Ability to lift up 20 lbs and carry up to 50 lbs.
8. Must register with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearing House.
9. Must have excellent communication skills to work with other team members and management.
10. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English satisfactorily.
11. Possess critical thinking skills to solve practical problems and deal with various business-related concerns and situations.
12. Ability to read and follow shipping information and make inspections.
13. Ability to operate tractor and trailer unit for extended periods of time.
14. Ability to load and unload material if required at each destination point in the delivery route.
15. Ability to comply and meet all DOT regulatory requirements.
