Job summary

Shelby County Schools is seeking a CDL-certified truck driver to support transportation of materials and equipment for district projects in Memphis. You will operate a variety of trucks, perform routine checks, load and unload goods, and assist maintenance crews on site.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a valid CDL (Class A/B/C). Proof of education and experience is required. MSCS is an Equal Opportunity Employer with ADA accommodations available upon request.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid state CDL Class A, B, or C depending on vehicle type.
• Proof of education, training, and/or experience required.

Responsibilities

• Drive light, medium, and large trucks to deliver materials and equipment to district work locations on assigned routes.
• Load and unload trucks; maintain records of items delivered and damaged or returned.
• Transport crew, materials, and equipment to job sites; assist crews on maintenance projects.
• Transport asphalt, soil, shrubs and trimmings to job sites or disposal points.
• Operate mowing, spreading fertilizer, and lawn care equipment as needed.
• Notify supervisor of equipment repairs needed.
• Operate pumper truck to handle effluent or other substances and transport to disposal areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A/B/C
