Job summary

Morgan County School District Re-3 Transportation Department in Fort Morgan, Colorado is seeking a Substitute Bus Driver (CDL) to safely transport students on regularly scheduled routes and field trips. This position reports to the Transportation Director and requires strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

The role entails pre-trip inspections, maintaining records, performing administrative tasks, and participating in in-service training to support student transportation

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age 21.
• Valid Colorado CDL/P2S Class A or B license.
• Pass a prescribed DOT physical examination.
• Meet Colorado 1CCR-301-26 rules for school transportation vehicles.
• Board of Education may find additional qualifications acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Safely pick up and deliver students to schools, activities and homes or designated providers within state and federal laws.
• Maintain safety standards and meet pre-trip inspection requirements.
• Record and report defects, maintenance issues and driving logs.
• Perform administrative duties including seating charts, student conduct logs and hours worked.
• Attend in-service training and continuing education workshops as scheduled.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 21 years of age

Valid Colorado CDL/P2S Class A or B license

Pass a DOT physical examination
