Job summary

Springfield City Schools in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a CDL-licensed Bus Driver with a PS endorsement for the Transportation Department for the 2026-2027 school year. This contracted role requires 21+ years of age, five years of driving experience, and Ohio certification eligibility.

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years old with 5 years driving experience.
No more than 4 points on driving record within the last 3 years.
Operate vehicle in accordance with local, state, and national traffic safety laws; pupil transportation standards.
Safely transport students to and from school and other school sponsored events; follow routes and schedules.
Maintain or be eligible to obtain an Ohio School Bus Driver Certification.
Have a High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Safely transports students to and from school and other events following established routes and schedules.
Operates vehicle in accordance with Ohio laws and pupil transportation standards.
Complete daily pre-trip inspections and proper documentation.
Maintain discipline on vehicle and enforce school bus regulations.
Supervise students as they board, ride and depart from the bus.
Maintain cleanliness and security of the bus; report mechanical issues promptly.
