Job summary

Virginia Eagle Distributing is seeking a Relief Manager to lead a team of Drivers and Merchandisers in our Springfield, VA area. You will coach performance, run routes when needed, and ensure DOT compliance and safety across the department.

You must hold a valid Virginia Class A CDL and be prepared to cover multiple roles, including route deliveries and sales support, in a fast-paced beverage distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Experience supervising drivers or merchandisers or similar teams.
• Ability to coordinate routes and coverage efficiently.
• Clear verbal and written English communication.
• Basic math for handling monetary transactions and payroll tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead a field team of Drivers and Merchandisers, managing daily schedules and ensuring standards.
• Coach the team to improve market performance and safety.
• Oversee full employment cycle: interviewing, hiring, coaching, performance management, and termination in partnership with HR.
• Approve PTO and monitor timesheets and employee appearance/conduct.
