Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or one year of related experience.
• Valid driver's license; ability to obtain Class B CDL within 90 days.
• Ability to learn GPS and online timekeeping systems.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and trucks.
• Able to use two-way radio and cellphone.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working outdoors in all weather.
• Safety-sensitive position; follow all safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Operate trucks to collect trash and recycling on assigned routes; offload as directed.
• Collect and sort recyclable items.
• Maintain a clean vehicle and diagnose minor equipment issues.
• Work a 10-hour day on average.
• Communicate via two-way radio as needed.
• Fuel trucks daily and record fuel usage.
• Ensure safe collection of trash and recycling; follow safe procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Secondary duties as assigned.
