Job summary

Safety-Kleen in Elgin, IL is seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee to train to drive a Class B box truck, provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products/services on a defined route. Safety-Kleen will pay for you to obtain your CDL.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL required
• Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of employment
• Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment
• Basic computer and math skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to perform physical functions as required
• Background check, drug test, and medical exam may be required per position
• Facial hair standards may apply for respirator use per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134

Responsibilities

• Visit 10–12 customer sites per day
• Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions
• Service parts washer machines and clean sediment
• Upsell and generate new leads in the field
• Service automotive repair fleets and manufacturing sites
• Perform daily scheduled services, deliveries and pickups
• Follow all safety and regulatory requirements
• Operate vehicles per DOT and local regulations
• Comply with environmental health guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned
