Polk County in Winter Haven, FL is seeking a Residential Curbside Collection Specialist (Solid Waste) to operate heavy-duty trucks and collect residential waste or recyclables. The role requires driving to disposal or transfer facilities, adhering to safety, DOT and local regulations while navigating busy roads and driveways.

The position includes performing vehicle inspections, maintaining route records, and collaborating with Management and the Data Analyst to improve route efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating heavy equipment and safe facility operations.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance for waste collection.
• Ability to operate with a focus on safe and efficient performance.

Responsibilities

• Operate a collection vehicle per Polk County rules and safety requirements.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and document checks.
• Collect residential waste and/or recyclables and ensure customer locations are clean after service.
• Follow route assignments and complete end-of-day documentation and checkout.
• Coordinate with Data Analyst to improve route efficiencies.
