Job summary

PRIORITY WASTE RESOURCES LLC is seeking a Residential Truck Driver in Sterling Heights, MI to safely operate a garbage truck and related equipment on assigned routes. You will haul solid waste and recycling debris from customers, ensuring on-time service and proper containment of materials.

Responsibilities include performing pre/post-trip inspections, adhering to OSHA/DOT regulations, communicating with customers and dispatch, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness and professional appearance.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL required.
• 1 year experience operating a residential waste truck preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Pass criminal background check, physical and DOT drug screen.
• Safe driving record with no avoidable accidents in the past five years.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and dispatch.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre and post trip inspections of truck.
• Operates truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
• Mounts and dismounts a heavy-duty truck many times each day.
• Completes assigned residential route daily, leaving the customers location free of debris.
• Professionally communicates with customers as needed.
• Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of any accidents, injuries, property damage, or any other incidents.
• Notifies Route Manager/Dispatch of any service interruptions such as closed lots, blocked containers, safety hazards etc.
• Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair/replacement.
• Attends training programs, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Communicates customer requests to Route Manager/Dispatch.
• Immediately communicates mechanical problems to Mechanic and Supervisor.
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicle.
• Maintains professional appearance.
