Job summary

Patriot Disposal is seeking a Driver - Residential Trash in Selinsgrove, PA to join a fast-growing waste and recycling team. You will operate rear-load trucks, follow routes, and support safety and service quality on every run.

This full-time role offers competitive pay, bonuses based on performance, PTO, and PPE provided. Home evenings, Monday–Friday with some Saturdays as needed. CDL is required and physical demands apply.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A or B CDL with a current DOT medical card.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and climb in/out of the truck during shifts.
• Experience performing pre- and post-trip inspections on commercial vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Operate rear-load garbage truck on assigned routes to collect solid waste.
• Lift and climb in/out of the truck, handling loads up to 70 lbs.
• Read route sheets and service customers on the route as assigned.
• Full-time, year-round; typically Monday–Friday, some Saturdays; usually home each evening.
• Operate hydraulic controls to collect and dump waste.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections of the truck.

Job Description

The Driver - Residential Trash is responsible for supporting key operations within the waste management and recycling industry. This role contributes to the organization’s success through strong execution, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to safety, service quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Garbage Truck Safely: Drive a rear load garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste in residential neighborhoods, construction sites, and other assigned areas.
• Manual Labor: This role requires lifting and climbing in and out of the truck, and the ability to lift objects up to 70 lbs.
• Route Navigation: Read route sheets and service each customer on the route as assigned by the dispatcher.
• Work Schedule: Full-time, year-round position with typical work hours of Monday to Friday (occasionally Saturday as needed). Drivers are typically home every evening.
• Hydraulic Operation: Operate lever hand controls for hydraulic machinery to collect and dump waste.
• Pre/Post Trip Inspections: Conduct basic inspections of truck components to ensure the vehicle is safe and ready for the route.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid CDL License: Must have a Class A or B CDL with a current, valid DOT medical certificate.
• Physical Ability: Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 70 lbs to shoulder height and climb in and out of the truck throughout the shift.
• Basic Truck Knowledge: Ability to perform pre- and post-trip inspections on the truck and its components.
