- The minimum salary is $68,985.28 annually.
- This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of 40 hours.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to administer a comprehensive Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training program for employees to safely operate multiple pieces of equipment in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job
- Six years of related experience, two of which must be as a classroom instructor
- Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collaborates and coordinates the planning, implementation and evaluation of CDL training
- Conducts on-site training to include pre-trip vehicle inspections, course hours and on-road instruction
- Creates and administers comprehensive instructional coursework and presentations
- Maintains accurate reporting of training hours and license status
- Communicates with state and local agencies to determine and meet licensing requirements
- Maintains training budget and tracks all expenditures
- Assists with snow and ice removal during seasonal events
- Completes related administrative tasks
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.
- Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A and a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate
- May be required to obtain additional certifications for various equipment
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be available for on-call duty and be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned and during emergencies.
- Positions are required to perform snow removal duties during weather emergencies.
- Must be able to operate Urban County Government equipment and vehicles in a safe, prudent and responsible manner.
- All positions require drug testing and a background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
