Job summary

Vecta Environmental Services is seeking a skilled CDL Hydrovac Operator to join our team. You will operate hydro excavation equipment, prepare sites safely, and maintain machinery while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement required, manual transmission experience preferred.
• Proven experience in hydro excavation.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and work in varying environments.
• Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends; travel/out-of-town work possible.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydro excavation equipment using high‑pressure water and vacuum systems.
• Prepare job sites per safety standards and use proper PPE.
• Inspect and maintain equipment; report issues to maintenance.
• Follow safety regulations and conduct site hazard assessments.
• Assist with material handling and disposal to ensure environmental compliance.
• Collaborate with project managers and crew to complete jobs safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Hydro Excavation Equipment: Use high‑pressure water and vacuum systems to safely expose underground utilities and pipelines.
• Ensure Job Site Preparation & Safety: Set up job sites according to company and client safety standards, including proper equipment positioning and PPE usage.
• Maintain Equipment: Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, conduct routine maintenance, and report any malfunctions to the maintenance team.
• Comply with Safety Regulations: Follow all safety protocols, conduct site hazard assessments, and attend regular safety meetings.
• Handle Materials Responsibly: Assist in the proper collection, handling, and disposal of waste materials while ensuring environmental compliance.
• Work as a Team Player: Collaborate with project managers and crew members to complete jobs efficiently and safely.

What You Bring to the Team:

• Class B CDL License with Tanker Endorsement (must operate manual transmission)
• Proven experience in hydro excavation
• Physical Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and work in various environments
• Strong Commitment to Safety and compliance with regulations
• Ability to Pass criminal and MVR backgrounds as well as drug screen
• MUST BE WILLING TO WORK OVERTIME, NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS. ALSO WILLING TO TRAVEL/WORK OUT OF TOWN.
