About The Position
Drivers are responsible for ensuring the timely and customer service-oriented delivery of Oberto products to customers.
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 4am – 12:30pm; please note that every driver will work every other Saturday. There may be times when you are on call as well.
WAGE: Hourly range for this position is $30.00 per hour.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate Oberto vehicles and equipment in a safe manner at all times.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers by loading products into trucks, driving to various locations, unloading products from trucks, and filling out paperwork.
- Ensure trucks are mechanically sound and fluid levels are topped off.
- Maintain trucks and trailers by ensuring that they are kept clean and free of debris.
- Fill out daily inspection reports for tractor and trailers and all associated paperwork in a timely manner. Report any issues promptly to leadership.
- Pick up meat at local cold storage facilities, verifying quantities and inspecting for damage.
- Shuttle materials between local Oberto facilities, assist with inventory needs by picking up supplies on return trip to the plant. This includes loading and unloading trailers with riding pallet jack or forklift.
- Be flexible and have the ability to adapt to unplanned changes.
- Must have excellent attendance and be reliable, punctual, and willing to work OT when needed.
- Work with a sense of urgency and drive to complete tasks.
- Perform outside dock and grounds housekeeping and maintenance tasks as required.
- Work on special projects for distribution and other company departments.
- Miscellaneous duties as required.
- Maintain accountability to Oberto’s Food Safety and Quality Principles.
- Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
- Back Up: The Truck Driver is a backup to the Distribution Operator.
- Back Up: The Truck Driver is backed up only by other drivers in possession of the required certifications and licenses.
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent (minimum).
- Must obtain Oberto Powered Industrial Truck license(s) for applicable equipment.
- At least 1-2 years driving, pulling 53' trucks.
- Experience in safe operation of forklift, reach truck, and other warehouse pallet moving equipment.
- Must have or adequately develop working knowledge of Food Safety and Regulatory business standards, practices, policies, procedures, and state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to HACCP, GMP’s, SSOP’s, OSHA, and Labor Laws.
- Must be able to operate trucks with manual transmissions.
- CDL Class “A” License.
- Ability to handle semi-truck and trailers up to the legal limit in a safe manner.

- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Physical work includes climbing stairs, pulling hoses, etc.
- Willing to work in a various-temperature environment.
- Ability to handle heavy objects safely and with proper body mechanics. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and routinely maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell.
- Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
