Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Class 8 driving or repairing experience required.
• Valid CDL-B license is essential for this role.

Company Overview

Fyda Freightliner Columbus is an Elite Support Certified dealer of new Freightliner trucks and Crane Carrier vocational severe-service vehicles, and carries a large inventory of all-makes of pre-owned trucks. Fyda Freightliner Columbus is the largest retailer of new and used Expediters in the United States. Serving the Columbus transportation industry hub since 1985, we operate as a full-service commercial truck dealership and body shop.

Responsibilities

1. Coordinate all parking within the lot
2. Identify basic signs of undriveable trucks to avoid extra damage
3. Improve parking segregation based on on-the-job observations
4. Coordinate with Service Transporter and Foremen to set up testing queues based on customer needs/timelines
5. Perform daily lot checks and notify management of vehicles sitting more than 7 days after repairs are complete
6. Coordinate with foremen to stage vehicles based on destination in designated parking spots
7. Write up to 1-2, EA to 3-8 and Main Shop to 9-13
8. Update stories in DMS and Uptime Pro
9. Direct and greet customers upon arrival and guide them to the service desk
10. Park customer trucks after write-up
11. Assist in keeping the driving lanes clear
12. Guide un-deckers to proper un-decking areas
13. Stage vehicles for customer pickup
14. Properly prepare customer vehicles during write-up with tags, mats, etc.
15. Carry and utilize a two-way radio for communication
16. Visually inspect trucks for lot damage while in our care
17. Ensure trucks that came in overnight are parked in appropriate spots and properly tagged/prepped
18. Conduct periodic lot patrols for customers prohibited from working on their trucks in the parking lot
19. Inspect trailer area for trash/debris and clean up
20. Maintain sidewalk areas free of trash, cigarette butts, etc.
21. Follow truck lock out tag out procedures

Skill Requirements

1. Must be able to work full-time, Monday - Friday, 10:30am - 7:00pm
2. Some overtime may be required depending on volume and approval
3. Know how to jump start a truck
4. Have a basic knowledge of Class 8 Truck Systems
5. Minimum of 2 years of Class 8 driving or repairing experience
6. Valid CDL-B
7. Ability to work with multiple levels of employees
8. Professional and friendly demeanor
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
10. Ability to give clear, tactful directions
11. Proficient in Microsoft Office
12. Ability to learn basic computer systems
13. Ability to cross-train with Service Transporter
