Job summary

FleetForce in Palm City, FL seeks a Commercial Driver's License Instructor to train and develop new CDL drivers across classroom, skills courses, and behind-the-wheel sessions. You’ll help create safe, proficient drivers by guiding students through our curriculum.

You will conduct pre-trip inspections, teach basic control skills, and evaluate student performance while maintaining records. Weekend work is required; valid CDL and DOT card are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid FL license Class A CDL with a minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience.
• Current DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one.
• Clean driving history and ability to pass pre-employment tests.
• Effective English communication skills.
• Ability to work weekends and adapt to a 7-day operation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle pre-trip inspections training.
• Teach basic control skills, including backing into designed areas.
• Instruct on uncoupling and coupling tractor/trailer units.
• Train students on basic shifting techniques, including double clutching.
• Guide students to safely operate commercial vehicles on rural and city roadways.
• Prepare and maintain student records including training activities and results.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Lead Instructor or School Director.
