Job summary

Miller Pipeline is seeking Equipment Operators to support underground pipeline construction and repair projects. Candidates should have experience operating heavy equipment and be able to communicate effectively on job sites.

Responsibilities include excavation work, installation of underground cable and conduit, attaching implements to tractors, and ensuring utilities are properly located before proceeding.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an operator's apprentice program and/or 3+ years of equivalent experience operating heavy equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Digging, filling, back-filling, grading or other excavation work including trenches, pits or tunnels.
• Distinguishes between properties, types and moisture content of soils.
• Installation of underground cable and conduit as well as overhead cable.
• Fasten attachments to tractor with clevis or wedge pin hitches.
• Connect hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage, or power takeoff shaft to tractor to provide power to raise, lower, or tilt attachments.
• Move levers and depress pedals to maneuver tractor and raise, lower, and tilt attachment to clear right-of-way.
• Assess the area to determine if the utilities were properly located prior to performing the underground work.
• Review the terrain to determine the best method to perform the job.
• Operate vehicles for hauling.
