Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. is seeking a local CDL Hazmat Driver for daytime, local deliveries in the Austin, TX area. You will safely operate commercial vehicles, ensure timely deliveries, follow all DOT regulations, and support site safety while maintaining accurate records.

Weekly pay and a strong focus on customer service are emphasized in this role. Requirements include a valid Class A or B CDL with HazMat endorsement, current DOT medical certification, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with HazMat endorsement.
• Current DOT Medical Certification.
• FMCSA Registration and awareness of safety rules.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Must be 21+ years old for hazardous materials transport.
• Clean driving record with no recent DWI/DUI.
• Knowledge of FMCSA and OSHA safety regulations.
• Basic computer skills to record deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Follow all DOT rules and maintain a safe driving record.
• Comply with federal and state hazmat regulations.
• Inspect vehicles before/after trips for safety and timeliness.
• Load/unload and secure products, keeping hazmats apart as required.
• Adhere to FMCSA regulations and verify routes and inventory.
• Support site safety and report hazards to prevent incidents.
• Document deliveries, vehicle inspections, and receipts.
• Take photos of delivered products as required.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and tickets.

Job description

Pay range: $28 to $32 an hour Our local CDL Hazmat Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to deliver products to customer locations or job sites, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while following all DOT regulations. Our Drivers are essential partners in our success, delivering more than products—they deliver reliability, trust, and a great customer experience. Weekly pay! Day driving with local deliveries. Family time.

Pay range: $28 to $32 an hour

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) rules and maintain a clean driving record to make sure company vehicles are operated safely and responsibly.
• Comply with all federal and state regulations regarding transportation of hazardous materials.
• Inspect vehicles before and after trips to help ensure safe and on-time deliveries.
• Load, unload, and organize orders carefully ensuring that all products are properly secured, and hazardous material is separated appropriately.
• Understand and adhere to FMCSA regulations.
• Double-check purchase orders and delivery tickets to confirm routes and inventory, helping reduce errors and improve customer satisfaction.
• Support job site safety by checking for and reporting any potential hazards, to help prevent accidents and protect people and property.
• Take photos of all delivered products as required by company policy.
• Keep accurate records of deliveries, vehicle inspections, and receipts.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and handle freight/materials up to 100 pounds throughout the workday. The job involves consistent physical activity, including bending, crouching, and prolonged seating and standing. Must meet DOT medical certification standards to operate vehicles safely.

Working Conditions

Work performed in a warehouse environment in conditions like noise, hot or cold temperatures. Driving in varied weather and traffic conditions. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) HAZMAT Endorsement
• Current DOT Medical Certification
• Completion of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) Registration
• Ability to continuously lift and handle freight/materials up to 100 pounds.
• Must be 21 years old for transporting hazardous materials.
• A clean driving record (no hit & runs and no DWI/DUI in the last 18 months)
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT compliance and OSHA safety regulations
• Basic computer skills to record deliveries and track inventory on a computer or tablet.

Preferred Qualifications

• Air Brake endorsement
• Valid and unexpired forklift certification
• Valid and unexpired certification to operate a Moffett (truck-mounted forklift)
• Prior commercial driving experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
