Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Front-End Driver to operate front-end trucks servicing multi-family and commercial routes, collecting waste and recyclables and transporting loads to appropriate facilities.

Responsibilities include daily vehicle inspections, safe operation, courteous customer interactions, and maintaining logs and route records. The role requires a valid CDL and one year of driving experience or CDL school certificate; generous benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the truck and its components and basic maintenance.
• Ability to control operations of equipment; back distances ~120 ft+ using mirrors.
• Ability to recognize unacceptable waste.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents and maps.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Flexibility to adapt to change and pursue continuous improvement.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds repetitively with proper technique.
• Ability to coordinate multiple limbs while seated or standing.
• Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Drive front-end trucks along designated routes to collect waste and transport to facilities.
• Open container enclosures or gates and position cans for dumping.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections; submit vehicle condition reports.
• Interact courteously with customers and inform supervisor of issues.
• Clean loose trash around truck and site to maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Maintain and submit logs and route productivity sheets.
• Maneuver truck into/out of tight spaces using mirrors.
• Use GPS/map to locate service addresses.
• Follow safety procedures and company rules on operation and safety.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
