Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in West Point, Virginia is looking for a Front Load CDL Driver to join our local operations. Drive front-load trucks on established local routes, collect waste and recyclables, and contribute to a safety-focused team with year-round work and competitive pay.

You’ll perform pre- and post-trip inspections, interact with local businesses, and maintain compliance with DOT regulations. Starting pay at $25/hour with opportunities to grow, full-time benefits, and home every night.

Qualifications

• CDL license required (state-issued).
• 1+ years of commercial truck driving experience or completed CDL school certification.
• Ability to safely maneuver trucks into tight spaces using mirrors and backing.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform routine physical tasks per safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Local Operations: Drive commercial front-load trucks along established local commercial and multi-family residential routes.
• Hands-on Service: Operate hydraulic controls to collect waste/recyclables, maneuver container enclosures, and safely dump 3–4 yard containers.
• Safety First: Perform routine pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring your equipment meets safety standards before heading out.
• Customer Interaction: Serve as the friendly face of our company while servicing local businesses along your route.

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
• 1+ years of commercial truck driving experience (Front End / Front Load experience preferred) OR a completed CDL school certification.
• Ability to safely maneuver trucks into tight clearance spaces using mirrors and backing skills.
• Ability to repetitively lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and perform routine physical tasks (opening corral gates, rolling castored cans).
• Strong commitment to safety regulations and DOT compliance.
