Job summary

Met Council in New York is seeking a Food Warehouse CDL Driver to safely operate a 26-foot truck for food pickup and distribution, while supporting warehouse tasks when not on the road.

Schedule is Mon–Thu 7:00 AM–4:00 PM and Fri 7:00 AM–1:00 PM, with no weekend work. CDL with clean driving record and 5+ years driving experience required, plus ability to use an iPad/tablet for data entry and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Requires a Valid CDL with a clean driving record.
• 5+ years of truck driving experience with CDL.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Familiarity with NYC roadways and data entry on tablets/phones.

Responsibilities

• Pick up food from partner agencies and donors and deliver on time.
• Oversee loading and unloading of the truck and maintain logs.
• Coordinate pickups with other drivers and routes.
• Perform routine truck maintenance and daily inspections.
• Support warehouse operations during slower road days (stocking, inventory).
• Operate with strong organization, attention to detail and problem solving.
• Work independently and with the team.
