The role requires valid CDL A or B with air brake endorsement, prior driving experience, and the ability to work outdoors in varied weather. Forklift or material-handling experience is a plus; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate CDL flatbed vehicles to deliver roofing and building materials to job sites, customers, and company locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report safety concerns.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload materials per DOT requirements.
• Secure loads using straps, chains, tarps, and other equipment.
• Operate forklifts, piggyback/Moffett, conveyors and related equipment as needed.
• Complete deliveries accurately and on time.
• Maintain logs, tickets, and reports per company policy and DOT rules.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery locations.
• Loading and unloading trucks.
• Restocking and organizing inventory.
• Organizing materials and maintaining a clean yard.
• Assist with inventory control and general yard labor.
• Follow safety policies and OSHA/DOT regulations.
• Keep truck and equipment clean and organized.
• Communicate with customers, dispatch, and management.

Job description

Ray's Roofing is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Flatbed Truck Driver to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys driving, working outdoors, and performing hands-on work in a fast-paced building materials environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and previous commercial driving experience. Experience hauling building materials, operating a flatbed truck, and using forklifts or other material-handling equipment is strongly preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are preferred.

In addition to delivery responsibilities, this role assists with loading and unloading materials and supporting warehouse and yard operations as needed.

Essential Responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned CDL flatbed commercial vehicles to deliver roofing and building materials to job sites, customers, and company locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns promptly.
• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload roofing and building materials in accordance with company procedures and DOT requirements.
• Properly secure loads using straps, chains, tarps, and other required equipment.
• Operate forklifts, piggyback/Moffett equipment, conveyors, and other material-handling equipment as needed.
• Complete deliveries accurately, safely, and on time.
• Maintain all required logs, delivery tickets, paperwork, and reports in compliance with company policy and DOT regulations.
• Provide professional, courteous, and helpful customer service at delivery locations.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 75-90 pounds and assist with heavier materials when needed.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and repetitive movement.
• Ability to climb onto and around trucks and trailers and safely perform loading/unloading activities.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
• Ability to safely perform all essential job functions in accordance with ADA requirements.

Schedule

Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays

Typical hours may include:

• 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Hours may vary based on delivery schedules, customer needs, and operational requirements.
