Job summary

Airgas, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician near Gilberts, IL. The role requires a Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement and involves installing and maintaining bulk cryogenic tanks at customer sites.

Technicians travel within a 100-mile radius of Gilberts and may have occasional overnight stays. Compensation is $27.50 per hour with overtime opportunities. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, tuition assistance, and more.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
• 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years OR a Certificate of Completion from a trucking school (completed in the last 12 months).
• No more than 2 traffic convictions or at-fault accidents within the last 3 years.
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last 7 years.

Responsibilities

• Installation & Mechanics: Install centralized Microbulk cryogenic tanks and related components at customer sites using hand and power tools.
• Maintenance & Emergency Service: Respond to service calls, troubleshoot gas lines or tanks, and replace faulty equipment to minimize downtime.
• Physical Work: Work on ladders, run tubing, drill into structures, and move large stainless steel tanks with hand trucks.
• Autonomy & Schedule Flexibility: Travel within territory and occasional overnight stays, with a flexible daily schedule.
