Job summary

160 Driving Academy is hiring CDL Third-Party Examiners to conduct state CDL exams and ensure drivers are properly tested for safety and compliance. Training and DPS-approved examiner training are provided for certification.

Qualifications

• Valid CO CDL Class A license.
• Minimum 3 years of CDL A driving experience.
• Safe driving record and ability to pass DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening.
• Physical ability to operate a Class A motor vehicle safely.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Thorough knowledge of CDL driving standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and scheduling.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience as a CDL instructor is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Administer CDL Exams – Conduct Pre-Trip Inspections, Yard Skills, and Road Tests following state and federal guidelines.
• Ensure Compliance & Safety – Evaluate candidates based on CDL testing standards while reinforcing safe driving habits.
• Maintain Accurate Records – Document all examination results thoroughly to meet state regulatory requirements.
• Provide Fair & Objective CDL Testing – Maintain professionalism and impartiality in all driver assessments.
