Job summary

City of Fort Worth is hiring an Equipment Operator to support Field Operations. The role involves operating dump trucks and heavy equipment across city job sites, assisting with water and wastewater system work, and performing related field tasks as part of a dedicated team.

Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Texas CDL Class A license, and at least one year of experience operating motorized equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Texas CDL Class A with clean driving record.
• 1 year of professional heavy equipment operation experience.
• Ability to obtain Water Distribution Class D or Wastewater Collection I license within 12 months.
• Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays and participate in on-call rotation.
• Must pass physical, drug screen, and background checks.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with construction, repair, maintenance, and inspection of water/wastewater piping systems.
• Perform manual labor for installation and maintenance of water infrastructure.
• Follow safety standards and company policies at all times.
• Support field operations with traffic control and general construction tasks.
• Use hand tools and motorized equipment as needed to complete tasks.
• Load and unload materials, equipment, and tools on-site.
