Job summary

The Samost Jewish Family and Children's Service of Southern New Jersey seeks a Driver to operate agency vehicles for scheduled passenger pick-ups and provide safe, timely transportation. The role supports core values of hospitality, respect, quality, spirituality, and responsibility while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities include vehicle cleanliness, wheelchair assistance, safety inspections, and paperwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CDL with endorsements required.
• Clean driving record.
• Experience driving a passenger vehicle preferred.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships.
• Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drives Agency vehicles and makes scheduled pick-ups of passengers based on the schedule.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of vehicles.
• Assists on loading, unloading, and security of passengers with wheelchairs.
• Assures seatbelt safety of all passengers.
• Conducts inspections of vehicle post and pre trip and maintains appropriate records.
• Maintains proper seasonal ground upkeep at the Transportation Center.
• Performs Janitorial duties at the Transportation Center within agency safety and hygiene standards.
• Adheres to drug and alcohol, accident, and other random screening.
• Participates in cross-training and cross-utilization for department functions.
• Observes safety, emergencies, and professional conduct.
• Monitors client areas for safety and ease of access.
• Participates in safeguarding trainings related to protection of clients.
• Participates in meetings and information sharing; offers ideas for improved services.
• Develops professional competencies and promotes teamwork.
• Works flexible hours as needed; performs other duties as assigned.
