Job summary

FCC Environmental Services, LLC invites qualified candidates to join a team of waste industry professionals. You will perform pre/post-operation checks on commercial vehicles, operate on assigned routes and maintain safety through DOT-compliant procedures.

The role emphasizes courteous interactions with customers and colleagues, paperwork accuracy, and maintaining productivity to service clients efficiently.

Qualifications

• CDL license required or in process.
• Experience in waste/recycling operations preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre/post-operation checks on commercial vehicles to verify tires, fluids, safety devices and gauges.
• Operates vehicles on assigned routes including streets, residential areas and alleys.
• Manages controls and joystick equipment in line with safety procedures.
• Interacts professionally with coworkers, dispatchers and customers to ensure timely service.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes a pre/post-operation check of a commercial vehicle in line with FCC regulations to verify tire pressure, fluid levels, safety devices, gauges, and other components are in correct operating condition.
• Ensures commercial vehicles are safely operated on allocated routes that encompass roads, residential neighborhoods, and alleys.
• Ability to manually and/or automate controls and joystick equipment in compliance with the FCC’s safety regulations and procedures.
• Engages courteously with co-workers, dispatchers, and customers to ensure that all services are performed in a timely and professional way.
• Continuously monitors the vehicle’s status to ensure it remains operationally ready in order to reduce downtime.
• Completes necessary paperwork and other reports accurately.
• Maintains departmental productivity standards to ensure all clients are serviced in a timely and effective way.
• Follows and enforces all safety regulations and procedures.

Job Qualifications

Education:

• High School diploma or GED

Experience and Competencies:

• Garbage/Recycling experience preferred
• Valid CDL Class A or B
• Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary
• Must meet all qualifications as defined under Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
• Must be registered with the FMCSA’s Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
