Job summary

Position Overview

Safely operate heavy‑duty trucks; prepare, load, and transport large mobile open‑top and compactor containers to disposal sites, transfer or recycle facilities, and customer locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate vehicle and use equipment in a manner that aligns with company, local, state, and federal regulations, report deviations immediately.
  • Drive and operate front‑load, rear‑load, side‑load, or roll‑off truck to collect waste and recyclables from customers.
  • Report service interruptions caused by blocked containers, closed lots, street/alley way closures, or other safety hazards immediately.
  • Report safety hazards or concerns to supervisor, document accidents and injuries promptly.
  • Perform pre and post trip equipment inspections; document inspections per the Drive Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
  • Inspect all containers and immediately report if a container needs repair or replacement.
  • Review routes with manager or dispatch and adjust to improve efficiency and safety.
  • Safely use smartphone to communicate route status via designated application.
  • Relay customer requests to manager or dispatch in a timely and clear manner.
  • Document and submit customer tickets promptly.
  • After emptying customer containers, close lids/doors and place container right side up in allocated spot that does not block driveways, alleyways, or street traffic.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Required & Desired Experience

Physical, Driving, Travel Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs., bend, climb, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
  • Ability to work early mornings, long shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
