Roxbury Tenants of Harvard Association, Inc. (RTH) is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Per Diem Driver and Non CDL Van Driver to provide transportation for residents and program participants in Boston. The role operates 12- and 22-passenger wheelchair-accessible vehicles with a safety-first approach.

This is a per diem (as-needed) position with flexible, non-guaranteed hours and a competitive hourly rate based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 25 with High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid CDL Class A or B license (required) or valid DL.
• Passenger Endorsement required.
• Air Brake Endorsement required.
• Clean driving record.
• Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse population.
• Comfortable using GPS/navigation tools.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Commitment to safety and community service.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents and program participants in accordance with scheduled routes.
• Assist passengers boarding and exiting the vehicle, including seniors and individuals with disabilities.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections (interior, exterior, tires, lights, brakes).
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure proper fueling and fluid levels.
• Ensure compliance with all state and local driving regulations.
• Document mileage, trips, and submit receipts/logs as required.
• Report accidents, safety concerns, or maintenance issues immediately.
• Support routine vehicle maintenance and identify performance concerns.
• Follow all RTH safety procedures and organizational standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

RTH is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Per Diem Driver and Non CDL Van Driver to provide transportation services for residents and program participants. This role involves operating a 12-passenger, or 22-passenger wheelchair-accessible van, assisting passengers, and ensuring a safe and positive transportation experience.

This is a per diem (as-needed) position with flexible, non-guaranteed hours.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods while driving

Schedule

• Per diem / on-call

• Flexible schedule based on program needs

• Hours are not guaranteed

Compensation

• Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)
