Job summary

Clayton is hiring a CDL driver in Guin, Alabama to transport materials within the Clayton Homes Supply group. This role ensures proper paperwork, safe operation of equipment, and coordination with customers and sales reps. Strong focus on safety, compliance, and timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of professional driving experience, including mountain routes.
• Operates and documents transport with adherence to USDOT/FMCSA rules.
• Excellent driving record with no DOT violations in 3 years.
• Prior customer service experience and basic mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily truck log accurately.
• Maintain expense reporting for fuel and cards.
• Prepare IFTA reports as needed.
• Report unsafe conditions regarding equipment.
• Obtain required signatures on shipping and loading docs.
• Record daily work time in the system or on time cards.
• Use in-cab dispatch computer for load and fuel data.
• Comply with FMCSA and USDOT inspections.
• Occasionally work varied hours, including weekends.
• Coordinate load movements with customers and sales reps.
