Job summary

Nevada Health Centers in Las Vegas is seeking a CDL Driver to safely transport units over long distances, inspect and maintain vehicles, secure cargo, and follow routes in compliance with DOT regulations. This role requires driving 40% of the time and daily operations 60%, travel to multiple facilities, and a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least two years large vehicle driving experience.
• Maintain safe operations of the vehicle at all times.
• Possess and maintain a valid Nevada Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)/Class A License
• Must be able to pass DOT random drug testing requirements at all times.

Responsibilities

• Driver is responsible for the driving, set up, operations, upkeep and maintenance of both tractor/trailer, both outside and inside.
• Operate tractor/trailer safely by adhering to all safety requirements: inspect mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment of tractor/trailer unit before, during and after trips and identify potential hazards, or recognize safety alarms.
• Adhere to the assigned schedule for the mobile program and assure all travel arrangements are made in advance.
• Coordinates travel for self to leave van area during patient visit hours whenever possible, coordinate return to van at end of day whenever possible.
• Maintain a working cell phone during all required work times
• Communicate with the Logistics Supervisor or the Program Manager on all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, including visible exterior vehicle stickers for annual inspection in effort to keep the truck and trailer in compliance.
• Work with the Logistics Supervisor or the Program Manager to retain electronic logs and maintain records required for compliance (e.g. forms required by the Department of Transportation, local, state and federal agencies).
• Works with the Logistic Coodinator or the Program Manger to coordinate monthly and ongoing maintenance and/or repairs with appropriate vendors. Assures quotes for service are received and approved by management prior to service date.

• Cleans the van after each patient day. Cleaning includes sweeping, mopping, dusting, emptying trash and emptying gray and black water as needed.
