Job summary

A construction materials company in Texas is seeking a dedicated driver responsible for safely loading, transporting, and unloading ready mix concrete to various customer job sites. The candidate must have a valid CDL and experience adhering to safety and quality standards. Essential duties include operating a mixer truck, checking loads for quality, and ensuring compliance with all instructions from dispatch. This role requires physical capability and adaptability to various environments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Possess a valid Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record.
• Experience with Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and paper logs.

Responsibilities

Job description

Summary
Responsible for loading, transporting and unloading ready mix concrete from batch plant to customer job sites following established safety, service and quality policies and procedures.

Functional Responsibilities

• Drive and operate mixer truck to deliver and unload concrete safely at customer job site.
• Check load to ensure concrete product is consistent to customer specifications including slump and add mixtures.
• Complete work tickets for jobs legibly, timely and with full detailed description of activity and gain customer signature when needed.
• Follow written and oral instructions from dispatch or plant manager to ensure the quality of the concrete loaded into mixer drum is within customer specifications and to verify directions to customer locations.
• Attach extension chutes as needed to ensure efficient unloading.

Experience / Training / Certifications

• Minimum age of 21 years old required.
• Current, valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean MVR.
• Knowledge and experience with Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and paper logs.

Requirements

• PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
• Lift and carry up to 100 pounds from floor to waist or shoulder level occasionally.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Climb in and out of equipment 50+ times per day, climb up and down ladders occasionally.
• Environment will vary from outdoors with varying noise levels and vibrations associated with construction equipment, and exposure to building materials, dust, and dirt at operating sites to a normal office environment.
